Who is jesus object lesson
Continue until everyone has poured one of the liquids in the cup. Regardless of the order you pour things in, it will end up in four distinct layers in this order from top to bottom : vegetable oil, dish soap, milk, honey.
Have groups each pour their cups into the tall glass. Within a few seconds, the oil will create its own layer on top. The other layers may combine a bit, but the oil will remain separate. No matter how they mix the ingredients, the vegetable oil always rises to the top. In the same way, no matter what happens, Jesus always rises to the top! He is above all else! He is the best gift ever! After the kids have seen this on a small scale in their groups, they get a real big wow at the end when all the groups combine their already mixed ingredients into one big clear container and still, all the vegetable oil rises to the top!
This is a great object lesson for kids as they learn to trust Jesus, rely on Him, and truly believe that He is above all else! Let us know what you think in the comments below! Object Lesson: Dim the classroom lights avoid total darkness due to safety hazards and behavior issues.
Hide a very bright flashlight beside you. If you start walking without light, many things could go wrong. You could stub your toe. You could walk into a wall or over the edge of a cliff. You could crash into someone and get hurt. Any smart person knows that when you walk in the dark, you bring a flashlight.
Talk about the difference between darkness sin, separation from God, loneliness, confusion, etc. Just as darkness produces a scary environment where it is hard to see and often hides wrong behavior, light provides peace, warmth, and the ability to see. Jesus is the light for the entire world; He saves us from having to walk in darkness! Good Shepherd John Object Lesson: Use objects in your house or classroom to create areas that parallel the situations described in Psalm Dress up like a shepherd with a robe and a long rod.
The children will pretend to be sheep and follow the shepherd through each area. Remind the kids that Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He protects His sheep, feeds them, gives them peace, and is willing to lay down His life for them. Help your kids understand that Jesus is the key to having a true relationship with God. He invites everyone into a personal relationship with Him.
Read through the Gospel accounts together. Help your child develop a fuller appreciation of who Jesus is. Make a personal commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Choose to follow Him everywhere He leads. More than just a visual, an object lesson draws a truth from something you are showing or doing.
The object becomes a hook on which you hang your lesson and can create powerful associations that serve as reminders every time the object is seen outside the classroom. Real objects, places and events can make learning come alive for children, youth, and adults. Jesus often used the objects at hand around Him to teach people about God and His Kingdom.
When He was by a well, He used water. After He fed people, He taught them about the Bread of Life. When He was on a fishing boat, He said the Kingdom was like a fishing net. He told His listeners to consider the lilies, the sparrows, and the hairs on their head. Jesus referred to a fig tree, a mustard tree, yeast, salt, a vineyard, money and other things from everyday life to reveal spiritual truth.
When He spoke of a vineyard, He was probably by a vineyard.
